Do you remember the stretchy tight jeans with big bukly hi-tops? How about wearing a green mini skirt with blue spandex tights underneath? I remember going through a bottle of hairspray so quickly that my mom had to tell me to 'settle down'! My walls were plastered with Madonna posters and I had a phone that locked so that my brother could see all of my secrets inside! We had Intellivision with Burger Time and Lock and Chase! I would go back to the eighties in a heartbeat! Good to see there are others out there! My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy! |

I sure do miss the live '80s music. I remember seen Madonna's Like A Virgin concert. Prince and the Revolution as Purple Rain was coming out. And seeing Duran Duran. I revisited my teen years, this past March, I seen Duran Duran 3 nights in a row in Chicago. Talk about flashing back to when it was all new.
Hoovie, I also miss the music of the 80's. Some of today's music don't make any sense to me!!
You just have to let yourself grow with the styles of music. 90's tunes were cool and so is current stuff. As long as your tuning into heavy rock/alternative.

Hey what about the new wave look. The black outfits, heavy black cleopatra eyeliner and frilly shirts. Kids today have their "new" style called Goth. All you do is add a little more macrabe to it and it's the same thing. |

We stuck w/ the classic white keds & went for 2 different color Chucks. I thought I was pretty stylin' with one pink & one turquoise. |

Even better than friendship bracelets were the friendship pins you put on your shoelaces. (that is if you didn't take your shoelaces out of your keds so you could wear 2 different color pairs of socks) |

Just found my parachute pants. I think they shrink if packed for 20 years. I can't seem to get my leg in them. My "Members Only" jacket fits as does the shiny silver color plastic like jacket with racing stripes. Why does everybody look at me when I put it on? |

Did any of you "pinch roll" your jeans? It was like a HUGE fad in our area where you folded your pant leg in before rolling them up. It was a pain in the butt but ALL of the coolest girls HAD to do it. |

Remember Forenza sweaters from The Limited? and twista beads? And those sweaters that were not quite vests, but open all the way down to the waist. And sweater dresses w/phone cords for a belt. And the sunglasses with the leather on the sides so no one could see your eyes. Trax shoes from K-mart, oh, and Kangaroos shoes with the little pocket. Glamour Gals dolls. I remember pulling my dogs hair out and glueing it to the bottom of a shoe box to make a bearskin rug for the glamour gals in their house. And then those socks with the pompom. Moon boots. The suede boots for women that folded down (w/the glue yellow colored soles, like the first reebok aerobic shoes) Jams. I remember having alot of Hang Ten brand too. Only the rich popular girls had Esprit. remember TOTE BAG. god those were dumb. And the jordache purses, mine was pleather red. I can't find Tangy Taffy or Hubba Bubba blueberry gum anymore. Encyclopedia sets were over a thousand bucks and now we have the internet for $20 a month. remember the sweaters w/your three initials embroidered? The best of the 80's, for me, was the Commodore 64. Loading a cassette for 12 minutes to play Forbidden Forest. Or entering programs for 3 hours and finally running it to play 'lemonade stand' and finding that somewhere in there was an error and having to look over the whole thing to fix it. Remember those stupid little pastel colored keyboards we all wanted for christmas and having to wait to get batteries. GI Joe and He-Man. Scarlet and Skeletor. |

Have you noticed...rubber bracelets are back in the accessory stores, "chucks" are back, and jellies never completely disappeared. Let's not forget all those 80's bands touring again and selling the places out. The 80's will never die. Sorry kids of the 90's.

I am a huge fan of everything eighties EXCEPT the clothes...every decade comes back into fashion but lets hope the 80s never do!!!! Especially the hair and make-up...the best movies and music came from the eighties to bad it was "tainted" by the styles!!! |

Anyone remember those horrible black ankle boots with the tassels on the sides? Don't forget leg warmers, tube socks with the colored stripes, and those lace stockings without feet. I think I'm having bad flashbacks. Time to listen to Kajagoogoo! |

80s clothes were stupid and un-functional...I prefer today's clothing..
Pray tell what function bellbottoms serve besides looking stupid.
