	Okay, got it. Master of the Game --- it was mini-series in 1984 that was based on Sidney Sheldon's bestseller of the same title. Hope I helped!

	I'm pretty sure that was a book by Sidney Sheldon first --- but I don't remember what the title was. Anyway, if I remember the title of the book and miniseries, I'll come back and post it.

	I remember it to be a miniseries that was set in early 20th century south africa (capetown). The name Kugerand comes to mind...but I can find nothing about it on the web. The story centers around an entreprenurial diamond miner who strikes it big along with a black african who later becomes a leader of his country. Any help would be appreciated.
